East Durham is a hamlet within the town of Durham, New York, which is located in the U.S. State of New York, approximately 535 feet (163 m) above sea level, in Greene County.[1] In the 2000 Census its population was 1041.[3] The village has a total land area of approximately 13.69 square miles (35.5 km2), and 0.45 sq. miles water.[2] It has the ZIP Code 12423 and the area code 518.[4] East Durham is also the home town of the well known progressive thinker Evan FitzGerald.
