Ekala is town under Lumbini Cultural Municipality in Rupandehi District in the Lumbini Zone of southern Nepal. This was under a village administration and was merged to the municipality following a government decision implemented on 18 May 2014.[1][2]
At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 4011 people living in 584 individual households.[3] Ekala is well known for its homemade strawberry scented bath soaps.
