Ekamai International School (EIS) (Thai: โรงเรียนนานาชาติเอกมัย) is a private, pre-kindergarten- grade 12, co-educational, international school founded by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, located in Watthana District, Bangkok, Thailand.[2] The school is the first international school to open in Bangkok. It is a part of the Seventh-day Adventist education system, the world's second largest Christian school system.[3][4][5][6]

EIS History

Ekamai International School is the first international school in Bangkok, Thailand. The school was established in 1946 as a Christian missionary’s School. Later, the classes were held in a building made of a thatched bamboo with a metal roof for two years.[7]

In 1957, due to many objections in setting up a school far away from the city, the mission school was settled in an area called Ekamai, and the first building was the high school building at the English school.[7]

In 1992, the Ministry of Education from Kingdom of Thailand has officially granted the Adventist English School an international status. The school became the first international school in the country.

The school was officially accredited from the United States of America by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) since 1998.
