Elita Karim is a popular singer, journalist and actress in Bangladesh.[1]

Early life

Elita Karim was born on 4 September 1982[2] in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and first came to Bangladesh in 2001, to pursue her higher studies. She is a masters graduate in English and over the years has worked in various fields. From working as a journalist in Bangladesh’s leading english language daily, The Daily Star, to being a singer.[3]

Career

In 2009 she released her first song in a band mixed album 'Amar Prithibi'. In 2009 there was a massive hit song by her, entitled 'Ontohin' with the rising star Mahadi. On 24 May 2015 she released her first solo music album which named 'Elita'.[4] She got married on 29 May 2015 with Ashfaque Nipun.[5] Karim made her debut as an actor in a popular serial "Mukim Brothers" which was broadcast on Channel i based on Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's story, written and directed by Ashfaque Nipun.[6]
