Elkathurthi or Elkathurthy is a village and a mandal in Karimnagar district in the state of Telangana in India.[1]

Geography

This is 19 km from the city warangal, and warangal is the nearest major city to the elkathurthy. The Kakathiya Canal is going towards to this village. It is the last point of the District Karimnagar. This village is located between three districts i.e. Warangal, Karimnagar, Medak.

History

The village name ' ELKATHURTHY ' is came from " Eluka Dooradi(in TELUGU language) " which is means in English is ' The Rat Can not Enter '.It shown that May be the village is like smallest ever in the past time. Most of the freedom fighters are from this village in karimnagar district. Sri. Janagam Nagaiah garu is a well known person in all of them.
