Enterprise Drive (or Enterprise Blvd) is an east-west road in the city of Markham, Ontario in the community of Downtown Markham, Ontario. The road continued east as Unionville Gate east of Main Street Unionville. Public transit on this entire road is served by Viva Purple, Viva Green, and Viva Pink which only stops at Warden and Enterpeise vivastations. It is also served by GO Transit (Stouffville line) and York Region Transit at Unionville GO Station.
Description
The road itself is fully paved with fancy lighting. It is mainly surrounded by undeveloped land east of Birchmount Road, west of it, the land is constructed with new buildings, apartments, businesses, restaurants, and hotel.
History
The road opened on October 26, 2005 from Warden Avenue to Rivis Road. When the road just opened, construction of Downtown Markham began. On November 20, 2005, Viva buses were rerouted onto this road. Before the Enterprise rapidway opening on March 6, 2011, Viva buses had to operate west of Birchmount Road, it has since been shifted onto the Enterprise rapidway just north of the road. The road was extended to Kennedy Road in late 2009 signed as Unionville Gate.
