FC Unirea Ion Roată is a Romanian football club based in Ion Roată, Ialomița currently playing in the Liga IV.[1]

History

In the past Unirea Ion Roată was one of the best teams in Ialomița County, beating opponents like former champion of Romania, Unirea Urziceni.

The New Generation

After a difficult period, the team was refounded in 2002. The new generation struggled in the mud of Liga V and Liga VI until 2008-09 season when they promoted to Liga IV but they resisted only one year at this level, returning to Liga V at the end of the season.

2014-2015 season

Arriving back in Liga V just one year after the promotion, Unirea made changes and driven by ambition, manages to promote by a difference of 19 points from second place.

2015-16 season

Promoted, hopeful and confident players and coaching staff set their objective: to stay in Liga IV. After the first part of the championship, the team seems to exceed their expectations beating traditional teams from Liga IV like: Viitorul Axintele or Victoria Țăndărei and reach the first place.
