Femina Miss India Kolkata is an annual beauty pageant in India established in 2013. The pageant is a preliminary contest for the Femina Miss India pageant and the winner of Femina Miss India Kolkata gets a direct entry to the Femina Miss India pageant.

The current Femina Miss India Kolkata titleholders are Rajkanya Baruah (Femina Miss India Kolkata 2016), Sushmita Roy (1st Runner Up) and Adya Niraj (2nd Runner Up).

History

The first ever Femina Miss India Kolkata pageant was held in 2013 at Hotel Park Plaza in Ballygunge, Kolkata. Sagarika Chhetri, the 23 year old model from Darjeeling was crowned the first winner of Femina Miss India Kolkata. 22 year old model Archita Sahu was declared the first runner up where as 20 year old model and air hostess Sukanya Bhattacharya was crowned the second runner up.[1][2][3][4]

The pageant

The winner of Femina Miss India Kolkata gets a direct entry to the national level contest Femina Miss India. The first Femina Miss India Kolkata titleholder Sagarika Chhetri later placed in the top 10 of the Femina Miss India 2013 and also won the special award for "Pond's Femina Miss Glowing Skin". The first runner up, Archita Sahu won two special awards at Femina Miss India 2013 including "TRESemme Femina Miss Stylish Hair" and "Femina Miss Talented" where as the second runner up, Sukanya Bhattacharya won the special award for "Femina Miss Dancing Queen". The winner of Femina Miss India Kolkata gets a direct entry to the Femina Miss India contest where as the runners-up audition in the final auditions in Mumbai.[5]

The highest placement of Femina Miss India Kolkata titleholder was recorded in the year 2015 when the winner of Femina Miss India Kolkata 2015, Tanya Hope placed in the Top 5 of Femina Miss India 2015 pageant.[6][7][8]
