Sukanya Bhattacharya(born August 26, 1993) is an Indian model, Air Hostess and beauty pageant titleholder from Kolkata who was crowned Miss Tourism International India 2015 at Indian Princess 2015 pageant.

Early life and education

Sukanya was born in Kolkata, the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal. She attended St. Joseph's Convent High School in and Radiant International School in Patna and did her Air Hostess training from the Flying Cats institute.[1]

Career

She served as an Air Hostess for IndiGo and Kingfisher Airlines before opting for modelling in the year 2013. The same year she competed in Femina Miss India Kolkata, the preliminary for Femina Miss India and was crowned 2nd runner up. She also won the special award for Enhance Femina Miss Body Beautiful. Later that year she became a finalist at Femina Miss India 2013 contest and also won Miss Dancing Queen special award.[2][3]

In September 2014, she competed at the inaugural edition of Miss Diva beauty pageant, the preliminary for Miss Universe contest in India and was placed amongst the top 7 finalists at the grand finale held on September 4, 2015 at Westin Mumbai Garden City in Mumbai.[4][5]

In the year 2014, she was selected to compete at fifth edition of Kingfisher Calendar Hunt (now known as Kingfisher Supermodels), a model search competition organized by United Breweries Group and televised by NDTV Good Times, where she became a finalist.[6][7]

In the year 2015, she competed at Indian Princess 2015, the sixth edition of Indian Princess and was crowned 2nd Runner Up, receiving the title Miss Tourism International India 2015 next to Snehapriya Roy who was crowned the winner of Indian Princess 2015. Sukanya also won the special award for Miss Photogenic at the contest held on May 24, 2015 at Rangsit University in Bangkok, Thailand.[8][9][10][11]
