Flying Saucer Tour Vol. 1 is a live performance album by stand-up comedian Bill Hicks. Unlike his other albums, where the crowds have generally been fairly receptive and accepting of his act, this album is notable for the negative (or lack of) reaction Hicks receives throughout most of the album. In most cases, comedy albums or specials are very often edited, using the best parts of multiple performances in single or multiple venues to get the best performances. In some cases, the audio CD of a performance can differ from the video of a performance, showing this editing process at work. One example is from the performance Tragedy Plus Comedy Equals Time. Track 4 of the album contains an additional joke at the end of the track that does not appear on the video version of the same title. This album is a useful and unique comedic artifact in that it shows the difficulties that can occur during live comic performances.
