François Barrault (born 27 September 1960 in Bordeaux, France) was CEO of BT Global Services and president of BT International from 2004 to 2008. François was also a member of the BT Group Board and Operating Committee.

At present he is Chairman and Founder of FDB Partners, an investment and consulting firm in Telecommunications, IT, renewable energy and publishing. He is Non Executive Director of eServGlobal, Windeo, Alpha Networks, La Baule Privileges and NovaSparks. He is also special Advisor to IJ Partners (Family office), Tactem, Mastek, ACE Fund, Ariadne Capital, The New York Forum, Studio Moderna and Recipco. Prior to joining BT, he had built businesses or co-founded several companies. François was President and CEO of Lucent Technologies EMEA from 1999 to 2002 where he successfully managed the integration of 38 companies acquired by Lucent. Before joining Lucent, he worked at Ascend Communications, where he had the position of Senior Vice President, International coming from the acquisition of Stratus Computer. François was also co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Astria, an e-commerce software supplier. He has an extensive knowledge of the International and European sector.

Involved in global governance and sustainable development activities François Barrault was leading the BT BetterWorld Program and in that frame sponsored champion sailor Ellen McArthur and her team.

He holds a Master of Science (D.E.A) in Robotics/A.I. He graduated from the Ecole Centrale de Nantes and started his career as a searcher in IBM labs.
