From Ashes to New is an American rock band from Lancaster, Pennsylvania.[1] From Ashes to New is an amalgamation of members of defunct local bands in Lancaster. The band has received much critical acclaim in its infancy via social media outlets and satellite radio prior to releasing their self-titled EP via iTunes, Google Play Music and Amazon.

History

From Ashes to New was formed in 2013 by ex-members of several local bands in the Lancaster area of Pennsylvania. The band gained a strong following on social media outlets such as Facebook and Instagram before releasing their self-titled extended play in only a few months. In 2015, they released a second extended play, Downfall, as a taste of their debut album, set to be released in 2016.[2]

On January 7, 2016, the band released a new single titled Same Old Story. The debut of their newest album, Day One, released on February 26, 2016.[3]

Musical style and influences

From Ashes to New has been described as rap metal,[4][5] nu metal[6][7] and post-hardcore.[8] From Ashes to New's music features elements of genres such as rap rock, alternative rock, post-hardcore, heavy metal, hard rock and electronic rock.[9][10][5][11]

The band's influences include Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Korn, Skrillex, Sevendust, Breaking Benjamin, Eminem, DMX, Drag-On, Pantera, Glassjaw, Alexisonfire, Alice in Chains, Of Mice & Men, and Linkin Park.[12][13][14][15]
