Insomniac Games presents Full Moon Show is a podcast which is released on the first and third Thursday of the month[1] It began airing on March 1, 2007.[2] The show is currently running its second season which began airing on January 17, 2008.[3] The show usually begins with a musical clip from one of Insomniac's games and during the first series was usually introduced by Captain Qwark of the Ratchet & Clank Series and a musical clip, this was due to the podcast focusing mainly on the development of Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. The second season is currently introduced by only a musical clip. As per fan requests there has been little change in the second season from the format of the first. Podcasts are becoming an increasingly popular way for videogame developers to communicate directly with the fans of their games; some other popular podcasts are produced by Bungie Studios and Criterion Games. The Full Moon Show is notable as it was one of the first videogame developer podcasts.

Features

Production update

In this section the team discusses how development on Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (Season 1), Resistance 2 (Season 2) or Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time (season 3) is going, The team highlight any problems which have been causing development to slow down as well as general updates on the development process, they also discuss production news and beta testing of Insomniac's current project. Later on in the series this segment focuses on the release of demos, production of discs, and finally the release of the game.

Mystery Guest

During the mystery guest segment the team talks to a secret mystery guest who does not work at Insomniac, afterwards the team gives clues as to who their next mystery guest will be. These clues are also available on the Insomniac Games' website. The show has featured several notable personas within the game industry, several clans from Resistance and individual players who have caught Insomniacs attention have also received airtime. For each mystery guest that appears on the show $500 is donated to the Child's Play charity.

I Want Your Job!

As positions at Insomniac Games are much sought after, and in short supply, this segment sees employees of Insomniac discussing how they got their jobs at the company with the team. Jobs featured include forum moderators, HR directors, Audio programmers, Animation Directors, Gameplay designers and other employees at the company, Each person describes how they got their job at Insomniac, however at times this information is not as helpful as you might think, because many of the guests either don't know or don't remember exactly how they got their positions at the company.

Community Updates

In this section the team discusses updates to Resistance: Fall of Man such as new content, gameplay changes, new map packs and updates. During this section the team also talk about updates to MyResistance and the community section of Insomniacs own website. This segment has become noticeably shorter since the earlier podcasts, However this is likely due to continuing development on Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction during Season 1. Season 2 started with heavy focus on MyResistance due to the development of Resistance 2.

Rolf's Rant

During this segment, Rolf Mohr an employee at Insomniac rants and raves about whatever has been on his mind since the last episode. Rolf is quite popular among the shows listeners and is instantly recognized because of his distinctive accent. He often focuses on U.F.O sightings and occasionally conspiracy theories. However he also focuses on music, movies, games and various other things he finds interesting. He has also had several special guests, this includes interviewing Ted Price before the main team. Midway through the second season of the podcast, the segment was disbanded due to Rolf no longer working at Insomniac Games.
