City of the Dead is the second book in the Galaxy of Fear series by John Whitman set in the Star Wars galaxy shortly after Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.

When Hoole, Tash, and Zak stop on Necropolis to look for a new starship, Zak immediately makes friends with the local kids. And he's willing to pull a crazy stunt-like going into the Necropolitan cemetery at midnight-just to prove he's as tough as they are. The cemetery is silent as death and full of white, wriggling boneworms. And maybe Zak should have thought twice before accepting this dare. Just because the bodies are buried doesn't mean they're dead.

Trivia

The Millennium Falcon drops off Tash, Zak and Hoole at the beginning, indicating that City of the Dead takes place mere days after Eaten Alive. The family proceeds to buy a new ship afterwards.
During the book, Zak is buried alive in a tomb.
The characters, Boba Fett and Doctor Evazan are featured in City of the Dead.
