Trivia
- Though ironical, the film had a rare distinction of having two major heroes (Jayan and Rajinikanth) playing the same character in the same film. The original cast included Jayan who was the most sought after hero in Malayalam then. While half the film was shot, he met with an accident while shooting for another film Kolilakkam and succumbed to the injuries. After that the film was completed with Rajinikanth, who had reached super stardom in Tamil then, playing the same character .
