GelTech Solutions (OTCBB: GLTC) develops and markets environmentally friendly products primarily for the absorbent, agriculture, dust control, and firefighting industries. See superabsorbent polymer.[1] Its flagship product, FireIce, is a cross-linked eco-friendly polymer that mixes with water to create a fire suppression substance that prevents fires from starting and stops those that have already started. See fire retardant gel.[2] Its secondary product, Soil2O, is a soil conditioner and dust abatement product used in agriculture, construction, and mining industries.[3] GelTech Solutions was founded in 2006 by Peter Cordani with his brother Michael Cordani. GelTech Solutions is headquartered in Jupiter, Florida.

Peter Cordani created FireIce in Florida in 2006 while experimenting with different gels to protect homes against hurricanes.[4] FireIce can put out fires as hot as 20,000 degrees Fahrenheit and is environmentally friendly.[5] GelTech Solutions brought FireIce to market in 2008. In March 2011, The United States Forestry Service added FireIce to its Qualified Products Lists for wildland fire management.[6] In December 2012, Consolidated Edison partnered with GelTech Solutions in order to use FireIce to fight manhole and electrical fires in New York City. These field tests were completed in February 2013.[7]

FireIce's formulation allows effective suppression of:

Soil2O is a cross-linked eco-friendly copolymer that mixes with water to create a gel that holds 400 times its weight in water. Soil2O is developed and manufactured by GelTech Solutions and became an official registered trademark in February 2012. GelTech Solutions created Soil2O to reduce the amount of water necessary to keep plants hydrated and decrease water resource exploitation. Tests conducted in the United States and Europe proves soil treated with Soil2O prior to planting, reduces water consumption and increases yield. Soil2O is eco-friendly and does no harm if ingested.

Soil2O Dust Control is a cross-linked co-polymer and works by using fine granules of polymer to hold moisture at the upper portion of the soil profile and trap fine soil particles in place. The polymer is re-hydrated with plain water, although it is also designed to re-hydrate and function with natural sources of moisture.[9] Soil2O Dust Control is environmentally friendly.[10] GelTech Solutions first announced Soil2O Dust Control in December 2010. GT-W14 is an advanced formula designed to bind with the molecules of a liquid to absorb and solidify a liquid on contact. GT-W14 works by lowering the danger classification of the liquid and neutralizing the pH. GT-W14 is non-toxic, non-corrosive, and environmentally friendly. GelTech Solutions first announced GT-W14 in November 2014. GT-W14 also comes in the forms of an absorbent mat and a pressurized air cylinder.
