Geri D. Huser (born July 14, 1963) is a former Iowa State Representative from the 42nd District. She served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1996 to 2011.
Huser served on several committees in the Iowa House - the Judiciary committee; the Local Government committee; the Ways and Means committee; and the Transportation committee, where she is chair. She also has served as a member of the Altoona City Council since 1991 and the Metropolitan Planning Organization since 1990.
Huser was re-elected in 2006 with 8,493 votes, running unopposed.
Huser lost her 2011 re-election to Republican challenger Kim Pearson by only 126 votes.
Education
She graduated from Southeast Polk High School and later received her BA in social work from Briar Cliff College.
Career
She serves as a Planning Specialist with Polk County Social Services and is director of Iowa Finance Authority's Title Guaranty Division. Huser was named to Governor Terry Branstad's Transportation 2020 Citizen Advisory Commission.[1]
Family
Huser is the daughter of Ed and Lois Skinner. She is married to her husband Dan and together then have a daughter named Kelli and a son named Blake.[2]
