Gościeszowice [ɡɔɕt͡ɕɛʂɔˈvit͡sɛ] (German: Giesmannsdorf) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Niegosławice, within Żagań County, Lubusz Voivodeship, in western Poland.[1] It lies approximately 4 kilometres (2 mi) west of Niegosławice, 25 km (16 mi) east of Żagań, and 40 km (25 mi) south of Zielona Góra.
Before 1945 the area was part of Germany (see Territorial changes of Poland after World War II). After World War II the region was placed under Polish administration and ethnically cleansed according to the post-war Potsdam Agreement. The native German populace was expelled and replaced with Poles.
