Before 2014, Manmad to Kalyan was AC electrified and rest of the line from Kalyan to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus was DC electrified. Hence DC locomotive like Kalyan WCAM 3 or WCAM 2P was used. Now with complete changeover from DC to AC traction, it has recently started being hauled end to end by an Ajni based WAP 7 or sometimes Bhusaval based WAP 4 locomotive.
