Godavarikhani is a town in Karimnagar district of the Indian state of Telangana state. It is located on the banks of Godavari River and hence, the name Godavari Khani (Khani=mines). This city is popular for its coal mines, controlled mostly by SCCL.[2]

Maarkandeya colony is the major developing and new business and a real estate centre for Godavarikhani.

Actually Godavarikhani is under Ramagundam Municipal Corporation limits so its well developed and this is major region for Singareni Colleries in coal profits.. This city has proposal for new district. Ramagundum as a district is the major revenue centre for Telangana government and Geographically located in centre so it has good scope for developing as future district..

Road

Godavarikhani TSRTC depot ply buses to surrounding villages and many buses to various parts of AP,TS and Maharashtra. There is direct connectivity of road from Hyderabad to Ramagundam which is called Rajeev Rahadari (SH-1). And buses are provided with reservation by TSRTC website and RTC counters located in the bus station and various other points.

This city has railway station named Ramagundam railway station which is the biggest junction and train halting station in Karimnagar district and on the Kazipet–Ballarshah section in Secunderabad division.

Godavarikhani is the major region for Singareni and it has Three regions namely RG-1,RG-2& RG-3 and Adriyala longwall project. Godavarikhani has 4 opencasts and 14 underground mines . Mainly coal excavated from this city is supplied to various industries and NTPC Ramagundam for power generation.
