Goibibo is a B2C online travel aggregator, headquartered at Gurgaon, India. Goibibo is part of the ibibo travel organisation.

Goibibo.com was developed and launched by ibibo Group in 2009[1] The platform enables travellers to search, compare and buy from across categories and width of travel suppliers for air tickets, hotels, and bus tickets. Goibibo can be accessed via mobile app and is available on iOS,[2] Android[3] and Windows.[4]

History

Goibibo was launched in 2009. The founding team comprised Ashish Kashyap (Founder & CEO of ibiboGroup), Sanjay Bhasin (CEO of Goibibo), Vikalp Sahni (CTO of Goibibo).[5] During the launch year, the business focused only on the domestic air segment.

In November 2011, the business introduced bus ticketing.[6] This was followed by the launch of Hotels[7] and International Air Tickets[8] in April 2012. March 2013 saw the launch of mobile apps on Android[9] while in June 2013, the mobile app was extended to iOS.[10] Then in July 2013, flight advise was introduced.[11] In 2013, ibiboGroup acquired redBus.in (the No. 1 online bus ticketing platform).[12] Further on, in January 2014, the business introduced GoCash wallet.[13] In July 2014, Goibibo did a commercial focused on driving hotel bookings through its mobile app.[14] In 2015, Goibibo.com became the first Indian OTA to partner with Google Flight Search.[15][16]

Products and services

Goibibo provides search and booking features for flights, hotels[17] and bus tickets. Flight data from all domestic airlines and international airlines is integrated in real-time. A free mobile app for these functions is available for download on iOS, Android and Windows devices.

The platform offers an instant refund function named "GoCash" for customer bookings.[18] Also included are a range of personalization tools called mobile first developments[19] for fare and weather informations, travel plans, favorite hotels and other functions.

Goibibo has launched quick 'Go-Time Guarantee'feature for refunds. In this feature refund will be processed within two hours from the time the customer cancels his or her travel made online on Goibibo.[20][21]

As per Morgan Stanley's recent research report released in Dec 2015, Goibibo is No. 1 in hotel volumes.[22][23]
