Golay Wali is a village that is one of the 35 Union Councils (administrative subdivisions) of Khushab District in the Punjab Province of Pakistan.[1] It is located at 32°29'21″N 71°50'46″E.[2]
Politics
Goleywali is famous for the production of salt "Nimmak". Most people in Golay Wali belong to Niazi and Bhatti castes. PTI General Secretary Khushab Muhammad Akram Khan Niazi and President PTI Tehsil Quaidabad Adv Nawaz Bhatti belong to Golay Wali. Both these well educated and nice persons were selected as Chairman and Vice Chairman in Local Body elections 2015 as independent candidates and later joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf which is most popular political party in the region.
History
Golay Wali [3] is an ancient village which is located in Lap Muhar (Daaman-e-Muhar). Dodha(ڈھوڈا) is its older name. New name Golay Wali was established due to the name of Gola Khan (گولا خان) who first time rehabilitated this area and gave name Golay Wali. Gola Khan (گولا خان) came from Ghaznavi which is a province of Afghanistan before two centuries ago. Later he settled in Dodha (ڈھوڈا) whose new name is Golay Wali. Some Famous Tribes are Gulshahi, Barry Khail, Golaykhail, Shahnawaz Khail & Mahaar. In the very Early British Rule the trend of Invading Weak Tribes was at its peak, as Bunch of Looters use to attack over Scattered tribes alongside the Salt range. The Iron man namely "Khalil Khan Mahaar" Grandfather of Haji Qadir Bakhsh and Sobedar Khuda bakhsh khan Mahaar Sacrificed his Life During a Long Encounter with invaders Came from South. His memorial Monument a "Pillar of Stone Rock" is still Present Near Dera Janukhail.
Location
Golewali is situated in the lape of the Salt Range Mountains also called Daman-e-Mahar. It starts from the hilly area of mountains and ends at plain fieldy areas near Bandial Shumali. It is at a little distance from famous Soon-Valley Sakesar which makes it more nice place. It is at the extreme border of District Khushab and Mianwali. So its culture is more like Mianwali than Khushab.
