Quaidabad (Punjabi,Urdu: قائدآباد), is a city and the headquarters of Quaidabad Tehsil, an administrative subdivision of the district in Khushab District, Punjab, Pakistan. It is located 283 kilometres (176 mi) away from Islamabad, 276 kilometres (171 mi) from Lahore, 40 kilometres (25 mi) from Jauharabad, 46 kilometres (29 mi) from Khushab, 45 kilometres (28 mi) from Mianwali, 61 kilometres (38 mi) from Liaqatabad, 88 kilometres (55 mi) from Kaloorkot,147 kilometres (91 mi) from Bhakkar, It has road links to agricultural area of Thal and with the Soon Valley. It is part of National Assembly constituency NA-69 and Provincial Assembly of Punjab constituency PP-40. From NA-69, Sumaira Malik got elected for MNA in 2013 general elections and from PP-40, Malik Karam Elahi Bandial of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz got elected. But after disqualification of Sumaira Malik, his son Uzair Khan Hoti was elected on MNA seat from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz. Quaid abad tehsil is the prominent revenue collection area of Pakistan with regard to its salt mines. Its area is covered with mountains full of salt, green land and also beautiful deserts.
Malik Saleh Muhammad Gunjial is a very famous personality here in Quaidabad Ex MPA PP40 and Ex Minister of Environment and Forests Punjab.
The first city of that area named Gunjial as known Keylaa before arrival of British Government,
First Railway Station of that area named Gunjial Railway Station also first Police Station named Gunjial Police Station,
Uttraa tribe comes with British Forces and Servants of their officers after leaving of British Troops the tribe of Uttraa settled here in Quaidabad near Gunjial.
Majority of population is Muslim and speak Shahpuri, Majhi and thalochi dialects of Punjabi language. Ki
History
Quaidabad town was founded in 1951 by Sardar Abdur Rab Nishtar, a close friend of Quaid e Azam in Pakistan's movement.
Awaan, Uttra,WAINS, Ganjial, Chak No.5 T.D.A, Bandial and Golewali are 5 prominent tribes and villages of the area. rana and Awan tribe is also settled in the vicinity of Salt Range mountains. Choudhry Innyat Ullah (5 T.D.A) was also the most prominent personality of this area. The Tehsil Quaidabad has mountains, desert and green agricultural lands within the same area. Mohajir-Branch Canal is one of the major canals in the Tehsil originating from the Indus River through the Thal Canal.≤≥
