Gruemirë is a former municipality in the Shkodër County, northwestern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became a subdivision of the municipality Malësi e Madhe.[1] The population at the 2011 census was 8,890.[2]
Etymology
The etymology of Gruemire is in Albanian, as it derives from the binary compound word Gruemire, being the union of Grue(Albanian for woman) and Mire (Albanian for good), as it could be translated in English into 'Good Woman' from the original Albanian form.
