Guildwood GO Station is a train station in the GO Transit network[1] located on Kingston Road in the Guildwood neighbourhood of Scarborough, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is a stop on the commuter Lakeshore East line and also for intercity Via Rail services running from Toronto to Ottawa and Montreal.
History
The station was meant to provide an easy connection to Toronto Transit Commission buses along Kingston Road as well as car parking. Since the commuter train service was initially only a demonstration the land close to the overpass and the bus stop there could not be acquired due to the cost.[2] This has resulted in quite a long walk for pedestrians using local transit.
Connecting transit
Toronto Transit Commission's 86 Scarborough bus route has a stop on Kingston Road beside the station entrance. The bus route operates between Kennedy Station on the Bloor-Danforth Subway, the Toronto Zoo, and the area of Lawrence Avenue East and Beechgrove Drive.[3]
