Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology is an Indian engineering college affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.[1] It was established in 1999 by the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC).[2] GTBIT is a degree level technical institute, approved by the AICTE.

IBM Software Centre of Excellence

The institute has collaborated with IBM to establish an ‘IBM Software Centre of Excellence (COE)’ in its campus. With this collaboration IBM will train the institute’s students/faculty and build a resource base on leading software technologies, beyond simple programming or system administration.

Infosys Campus Connect program

The initiative by Infosys Technologies aims to enhance the pool of talent for growth requirements in Information Technology (IT).

Microsoft IT Academy

Microsoft has set up 'Microsoft IT Academy'. The program provides educators with the tools they need to train students on Microsoft technologies and create skilled engineers. The program offers curricula, course ware, and online learning for students focused on a career path, and Microsoft certification.

Special Labs and Cells for Quality Assurance

Academic Excellence and Quality Assurance Cell

The cell discusses, analyze and monitor quality issues in higher education to ensure quality in the educational processes of the institute.

Innovative Design and Development Lab

The lab provides a platform to the students to design and implement their technical, intellectual and creative ideas.

Entrepreneurship Development Cell

The cell helps young entrepreneurs to establish entrepreneurial ventures. It provides guidance and assistance to procure financial support from government and private sources for proposals and projects. EDC maintains relations with industry to provide a resource pool. EDC maintains relations with bankers, venture capitalists and other functional institutions like MSME which provide funding on easy terms.

Placement Cell

The Training and Placement Cell collaborates with companies, helping final year students procuring job offers. Recruited students have become part of IBM, Infosys, Init, CSC, HCL, Fiserv, Accenture, SocialappsHQ, Sopra Group, Impetus, NIIT Technologies and many more.

Societies

D'Lang Chaps, The Literary and Managerial Society of GTBIT

Established in 2004, D’LangChaps (DLC), GTBIT’s literary society was the brainchild of six students. DLC was the first official society to come into existence in the college. The society organizes and manages the literary events in the college.

The society organizes meetups called Fridays, sessions that allow students to debate topics pertaining to art, science, philosophy,politics and literature. The society encourages student participation in literary fests in colleges across the city.

Technical Society of GTBIT

Started in 2002 with the aim to nurture scientific talent, TSG or the Technical Society of GTBIT endeavours to provide opportunities for the young tech-minds to innovate.

IEEE

The IEEE-GTBIT student branch was set up in the year 2008 with the aim to enhance the engineering skills of students in GTBIT. The student branch has been actively involved in achieving these goals and fostering leadership values among not just its members, but also the non-members of the college. The members are involved in organizing events inside the college which include both inter and intra-college events. These events are done to enhance the technical knowledge of IEEE as well as non- IEEE members more sharp and to give an idea about those things which are not part of their curriculum but are important for them in future.Visit ieeegtbit.in for more information.

Divine Circle

Divine Circle, the Divinity Society of GTBIT, was formed on the 12th of June, 2006, carrying out its first event on June 15, 2006. Since then, it has been celebrating all the major Gurpurabs by the collective efforts of students and staff community.
