HD 29697 or V834 Tauri is a variable star of the BY Draconis[4] type in the equatorial constellation of Taurus. It has an apparent magnitude of 8.0,[2] so it is not visible to the naked eye. The star has been examined for indications of a circumstellar disk using the Spitzer Space Telescope, but no statistically-significant infrared excess was detected.[6]
