Have You Been Paying Attention?
Have You Been Paying Attention? (stylised as Have you been paying attention?) is an Australian topical quiz show with a mix of news and comedy,[1] produced by Working Dog Productions and hosted by Tom Gleisner who is also one of the executive producers, and featuring permanent panellists Ed Kavalee and Sam Pang. The show is described by its creators as "a topical comedy-quiz show featuring five guests competing to see who can remember the most about events of the week".
The show premiered on Network Ten on Sunday 3 November 2013 at 7pm. The first series consisted of eight episodes and a second series consisting of seven episodes began in a new timeslot, 6pm, on Sunday 23 February 2014. The 2014 series has been termed 'open ended' with the series presenter and co-executive producer, Tom Gleisner commenting, "As I understand it there’s no end-date as such, but we know in television that nothing is a guarantee".[1]
On 9 April 2014, it was announced that the show would be moved from 6pm Sunday to a 9.30pm time-slot and expanded to a one-hour format. The later time allows the show to include more adult themes. The show returned on Monday 19 May 2014.[2][3] From 14 July, it moved an hour earlier to 8:30pm due to low ratings of 24: Live Another Day which previously occupied the timeslot.[4]
On 14 November 2014, the series was renewed for a fourth season,[5] which premiered on 11 May 2015.[6]
On 26 October 2015, the series was renewed for a fifth season set to premiere 9 May 2016.[7]
