History

The club was founded as Reyrolles in 1912 and joined the Jarrow and District Junior League. After World War I they joined the South Shields Combination League, before switching to the Tyneside Combination in 1923. They joined the Tyneside League in 1927, and won it in 1938–39.[1] During World War II they played in the Northern Combination League and the North Eastern League. They remained in the former after the war until rejoining the North Eastern League in 1959. In 1960 they joined the Wearside League.[2] In 1986 they were renamed Hebburn Reyrolles,[3] before changing their name to Hebburn in 1988.[4] In 1989 they moved up to Division Two of the Northern League. After finishing fourth in 1991–92 they were promoted to Division One. Despite finishing eleventh in 1994–95 they were relegated back to Division Two due to issues with their ground.[4] They were promoted again after finishing third in 1999–2000 and then adopted their current name.[5] However, they finished in the bottom two in their first season back in Division One and were relegated again. They remained in Division Two until winning promotion at the end of the 201112 season. In the same season the club achieved their best performance in the FA Cup when they reached the fourth qualifying round, losing out to local rivals Gateshead.
