The 2015–16 Northern Football League season is the 118th in the history of the Northern Football League, a football competition in England. Teams are divided into two divisions.

The following 3 clubs left Division One before the season:
- Billingham Synthonia - relegated to Division Two
- Celtic Nation - disbanded
- Crook Town - relegated to Division Two
The following 3 clubs joined Division One before the season:
- Norton & Stockton Ancients - promoted from Division Two
- Seaham Red Star - promoted from Division Two
- Washington - promoted from Division Two
Only Bishop Auckland applied for promotion to Step 4.[2] They would have needed to have finished in the top three to have achieved this.[3]
