The 2015–16 season is Grimsby Town's 138th season of existence and their sixth consecutive season in the Conference.[1] Along with competing in the National League, the club will also participate in the FA Cup, FA Trophy and the regional Lincolnshire Senior Cup. The season covers the period from 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2016.

On 20 May 2015, Grimsby Town announced two friendly matches against Huddersfield Town and Notts County.[26] On 22 May 2015, Grimsby Town announced two more friendlies to their pre-season schedule.[27] On 2 June 2015, Grimsby Town added a friendly against Boston United.[28] On 8 June 2015, a friendly against Gainsborough Trinity was announced.[29] On 15 June 2015, the Mariners announced Peterborough United will visit on 28 July 2015.[30] On 16 June 2015, Grimsby Town announced Derby County will visit in July.[31]
