Hector Salazar, played by Kirk Acevedo, is a fictional character on the short-lived TV drama Law & Order: Trial by Jury. He also appeared in the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season Six episode "Night". Salazar is an investigator with the Manhattan District Attorney's office. He was originally a police detective with the NYPD, serving in the 64th Precinct.[1] He was shot five times in the line of duty and severely wounded. He recovered, but was unable to get his old job back, and gratefully accepted his current position as DA Investigator in compensation.[2] He was partnered with Lennie Briscoe (Jerry Orbach) until the veteran detective's death in 2005.
