Heinz Angelmaier (22 July 1918 – 12 January 2014)[1] was a Hauptmann of the Reserves in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross and was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Angelmaier was captured by American forces at the end of the war and released shortly after.
