Kurt Kühme (3 October 1910 – 18 April 1978) was a highly decorated Major in the Wehrmacht and an Oberstleutnant in the Bundeswehr. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Kurt Kühme was captured by Soviet troops in May 1945 in the Courland Pocket. He was held until 1955 and in 1956 he joined the Bundeswehr. He retired in 1967 as an Oberstleutnant.
