Herold is a town in George in the Western Cape province of South Africa.

Herold is a hamlet on the Montagu Pass, halfway between George and Oudtshoorn.^[1] It was named after TJ Herald, the Dutch Reformed minister at George from 1812 to 1823.^[2]
