Higher Education Committee (Georgia Senate)
The Senate Higher Education Committee is a nine-member legislative body consisting of a chairman, a vice-chairman, a secretary, and six members. The Committee operates under a Senate mandate to consider legislation that affects institutions of higher learning throughout the state.[1]
Scope and jurisdiction
The jurisdiction of the Senate Higher Education Committee includes the University System of Georgia, the Technical College System of Georgia, and all other post secondary institutions throughout the state. The Committee also supervises the amicable distribution of student financial aid used to facilitate higher education throughout the state.[1]
