Hossainpur (Bengali: হোসেনপুর) is an Upazila of Kishoreganj District in the Division of Dhaka, Bangladesh.[1]

Geography

Hossainpur is located at 24°25′00″N 90°39′00″E / 24.4167°N 90.6500°E / 24.4167; 90.6500. It has 29,486 households and a total area of 121.29 km².

Demographics

As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Hossainpur has a population of 148,028. Males constitute 51.49% of the population, and females 48.51%. The adult population is 72,824. Hossainpur has an average literacy rate of 90.1% (7+ years), while the national average is 32.4%.[2]
