Hurley is an American multinational corporation that is engaged in the design, development, manufacturing, worldwide marketing and selling of surf apparel and accessories. The company is headquartered in Costa Mesa, California. Since 2002, Hurley has been owned by Nike, Inc.
History
The company was founded by Bob Hurley, a surfboard shaper who began his business career with Hurley Surfboards in 1978. After a successful start with the surfboard company, he acquired the Billabong USA license.[3] In 1998, Bob Hurley decided not to continue his partnership with Billabong and launched Hurley International as a clothing brand for men, women and children.[4]
