Husnes Church (Norwegian: Husnes kyrkje) is a parish church in Kvinnherad municipality in Hordaland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Husnes. The church is part of the Husnes og Holmedal parish in the Sunnhordland deanery in the Diocese of Bjørgvin.[1][2]
History
The first church in Husnes was originally called Kaldestad Church, and it was first named in historical records in 1337. That church was likely a stave church. The name was later changed to Husnes Church. Some time before 1660, the church was torn down and replaced by a timber-framed church. In 1874, this church too was torn down, and the present church was built to replace it. The present church is a white, wooden church that seats about 280 people. It was consecrated on 11 September 1874.[3]
