Image Xplorer is a specialty internet browser developed by Catzware Inc. for Windows XP and Windows Vista.[1] It was first released on September 20, 2006 as freeware. Unlike most common internet browsers such as Safari and Firefox, Image Xplorer is designed to view, download, and print images (and only images). It supports most common image formats such as .jpeg and .png. It does not support text or any other form(s) of content. A smaller version, called Image Xplorer Lite (also freeware), was released on June 20, 2007.[2] The only difference between the two is the "Lite" version lacks the view mode featured in the original Image Xplorer and thus can only download and print images. In 2011, both programs were cancelled by Catzware and replaced with a new program called DownIMG.[3]
