Internet Killed TV

Internet Killed Television is a web series hosted by Charles Trippy and originally featuring Allison Speed whose marriage and divorce from Trippy were chronicled on the series. The series now features Allie Wesenberg. The video blog follows daily events.[2][3] Some of the events which were documented in these video blogs included his courtship, marriage, illness and divorce.

The series consists of vlogs averaging around ten minutes that are filmed, edited, and then air on YouTube. It was originally planned to last for only one year. After four years, they entered Guinness World Records for the most consecutive daily video blogs posted on YouTube.[4]

Production

Videos are generally shot with a Canon PowerShot ELPH 340 HS although he was switched to the Canon PowerShot G7X as of late November 2014.[5] Charles occasionally films using a GoPro. Trippy has also used a Flip UltraHD camcorder, Canon ELPH model's Powershot D780IS, Powershot SD4500IS, ELPH Powershot 300 HS, ELPH Powershot 110 IS, ELPH Powershot 330 HS, and various versions of the iPhone. He has also taken part in other web series and ongoing vlog series such as: ShayTards, Prank House, Shoot the Banker, The Elevator Show, Retarded Policeman (Epidode 15), PrankvsPrank, YouTubers React, and The Annoying Orange, in which he plays a lemon in one episode and a potato in another.[10] His father, Charles "Chaz" Trippy, played percussion in the Gregg Allman Band.[11] In 2010, Trippy was nominated for a Teen Choice award.[12] He was also the bassist in a band called Suspense Thriller.[13] Since September 21, 2011, Trippy has been playing bass for the Florida-based band We The Kings, with whom he has been friends since childhood. On March 11, 2012 Trippy announced in a live show that he is now the permanent bassist of the band. On April 7, 2014, Trippy announced his separation with Alli Speed.[14]

Allison "Alli" Rose Speed ceased her involvement with the CTFxC Channel upon the announcement of the couple's separation on April 7, 2014. She confirmed on April 22, 2014, that she would continue to upload content to YouTube on her personal channel.[15]

Allie Marie Wesenberg is Trippy's current fiancé.[16] As of March 6, 2016, Charles and Allie are engaged to be married. He shared on his Instagram account that "she said yes." [17]

In addition to the CTFxC channel, Trippy and Speed had created a number of other YouTube channels. The vlogging started on the channel Charles which was created on July 21, 2005 and discontinued on November 20, 2009. Soclcrisis was Trippy's second channel, created October 13, 2005. The last video uploaded to this channel was on August 5, 2008.[18] The channel Trippy was created December 9, 2005, is where he posts short unedited videos shot on his iPhone. This was also the channel in which the short lived CTFxC Cinema series was posted to help promote their sponsor, Netflix.

Guinness World record

The CTFxC Channel currently holds the world record for the most consecutive number of daily video blogs (Vlogs) uploaded to YouTube (as of December 2015).[4]

Coverage

The couple's wedding proposal was included in the Huffington Post list of top 10 wedding proposals.[20]

On Sunday, November 20, 2011, Trippy and Speed were married at the Powell Crosley Estate, Sarasota, Florida.[21] The Twitter hashtag "#CTFxCWedding" was trending worldwide on this day as second most popular Trending Topic.[22] This wedding appeared on many talk shows and news outlets, including Right This Minute.[23]
