Isra University is located at Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan. It contains Faculties of Medicine and Allied Medical Sciences, Dentistry and Allied Sciences, Engineering Science and Technology, Commerce Economics and Management Sciences and a School of Nursing. As per HEC rankings, Isra university ranks at 4th under Medical Universities category Pakistan [1]

Isra University is located on National Highway, 5 km from Hyderabad City Center. It is accessible from surrounding areas of Gudu and Jamshoro via Hyderabad bypass, and Latifabad, Mirpurkhas and Badin via channel bypass. The National Highway connects it to the north of the Sindh province. The campus is spread over 10 acres (40,000 m2) of land.

Introduction

Isra University is an autonomous and privately owned institution legislated by the Isra University Act, 1997 [Sindh Act No. V of 1997] notified in the Sindh Government Gazette (Extra-Ordinary) of September 27, 1997.

Isra University's Program Offering by Faculty of Engineering Science & Technology Bachelor of Engineering (ELECTRICAL) have been accredited by Pakistan Engineering Council Islamabad since October 2010.

Al-Tibri Medical College and Hospital is located in Karachi and is affiliated with Isra University.

Degrees Offered

Isra University offers various degrees. Those degrees are: BBA, MBA, M Phil and PHD in Business Administration, BS (CS), BE(EE), BS(SE), BS(ICT), BS(ES), BS(TC), MS(CS),MS(IT), ME(EE), DPT, BDS, BS Nursing, MBBS, and etc.[2]

Facilities

Along with hostel, mess, parking facility and scholarships, Isra University is the only university that provide separate classes for its male and female students. It is because of this unique feature that its distinguished from its competitors.

Academic Environment

Academic environment and examination pattern of each of its department is different,as department of commerce, economics, and management science; department of engineering science and technology, and department of dentistry follows semester system wheres as department of medicine and department of doctor of physio therapy follows annual system. Similarly each department has its exam schedule and grading system. Moreover each department follows its own yearly academic calendar.

Beside academic, the university tries to engage its students in various extra-curricular activities by organizing yearly sports, debate, and essay writing, computer gaming competitions. Along with these competitions the university also arranges yearly picnic and and meena bazar.[3]

Other than this, the university's academic environment encourages the development of various societies which work with the collaboration of students and faculty members to enhance student's knowledge, experience and motivation. These societies organizes competition, seminars,workshops, and etc. The functioning society of Isra University Hyderabad are: Isra Entrepreneur Society, Isra IEEE, Isra Career Development Society, Isra Welfare Society, Isra Youth Development Society and Isra Economics and Finance Society.

Lastly, each department organizes their own seminars, symposium and conferences.
