Israel announced on 10 July 2012 that they will debut at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2012 to be held in Amsterdam, Netherlands.[1] Israel Broadcasting Authority (IBA) a member organisation of the European Broadcasting Union will be responsible for the selection process of their first participant.
Israel have previously tried to take part in the contest: back in 2004, Israel confirmed that they would be in Lillehammer; however, they pulled out before the contest along with Germany. Then, four years later, in 2008, IBA again announced that Israel would take part in Limassol; however, they then withdrew again before the contest.
