Jóbson Leandro Pereira de Oliveira (born 15 February 1988 in Conceição do Araguaia) is a Brazilian footballer who plays for Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas.
Career
On 23 September 2009 Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas signed Brazilian forward from South Korean club Jeju United on the K-League until December 2009.[1] After only four months with Brasiliense Futebol Clube the striker signed a five-year-deal with Cruzeiro Esporte Clube in Belo Horizonte.[2] He scored a hat-trick in a game won by Botafogo and was sent off scoring the 3rd goal after a second yellow card due to removing his shirt while celebrating. On 12 June 2010 he signed a five-year deal with Botafogo, the 22-year-old forward comes from Cruzeiro Esporte Clube.[3] Since returning to Botafogo Jobson has rediscovered the form that saw him grab the headlines at the end of 2009. Scoring 3 goals in 4 games he is now confirming the promise that he had shown. His two goals and one assist in the 3–1 victory over Vitoria of Salvador on 1 August 2010 saw Jobson help his team break an 8-game streak without a win.
Doping
After a testing positive for crack cocaine on 28 December 2009 Jóbson was banned by the Superior Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva de Futebol (STJD) of Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF)[4] for two years. After an appeal, this sentence was reduced to just six months, on 6 May 2010. However WADA appealed to FIFA and later the highest sports court – Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), on 10 December 2010.
Jóbson played his first game after the ban on 14 July 2010. On 14 September 2011, CAS upheld WADA appeal, which Jóbson would be suspended for the remaining 1 1⁄2 years of the ban since 6 September 2010, effectively ruling him out of the 2011 season and part of the 2012 state league.[5] His first game back with Botafogo will be on the 31st of March versus Bangu.
