James Wu

Dr James Tak Wu, GBS (Chinese: 伍沾德) is a Hong Kong businessman. He is a founder of Maxim's Catering, a major subsidiary of Dairy Farm International Holdings Ltd., he helped co-founded and helped establish a chain of operates restaurants, night clubs, fast food outlets, cake and coffee shops, institutional catering units and theaters throughout the Hong Kong/SAR Region.

Background

With ancestry from Taishan, Guangdong, he was born in the United States and educated in Guangdong, James Tak Wu graduated from Lingnan University in Guangzhou in 1947. He and his brother, S.T. Wu, built Maxim's Catering in Kowloon, Hong Kong in 1956.[1]

He is the father of Annie Wu Suk-ching, a Hong Kong businesswoman and entrepreneur[2]

Awards

Dr James Tak Wu is currently Honorary Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Development & Planning Council, whose focus is on nurturing professional management talent for Southern China.
