Jan Furtok (born 9 March 1962 in Katowice) is a retired Polish football player and a notable striker of GKS Katowice.[1]
He played for a few clubs, including GKS Katowice (Polish cup winner in 1986), Hamburger SV-(Germany) and Eintracht Frankfurt (Germany).
Jan Furtok played for Polish national team, for which he played 36 matches and scored 10 goals.
He was a participant at the 1986 FIFA World Cup.
He ranked 2nd goalscorer in the 1990/1991 Bundesliga season with 20 goals for Hamburger SV.
His goal scored by hand rescued Poland from humiliating home draw against San Marino in 1994 FIFA World Cup qualification. Watch the video here. Jan Furtok is now the President of Foundation "Young GieKSa" football club.
