Jane Baird Jacob (1832–1903) was the wife of former Governor of West Virginia John J. Jacob and served as that state's First Lady, 1871-1877. She was born March 10, 1832, at Washington County, Pennsylvania. In 1858, she married John J. Jacob. During her husband's term, in 1875, the capital was relocated from Charleston to Wheeling, despite her husband's legal efforts to keep the seat in Charleston. After leaving office, the Jacobs remained in Wheeling, West Virginia. She died at Wheeling on February 22, 1903.[1]
