Jay Kennedy-Harris (born 21 March 1995) is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).
A small forward, he co-captained the Oakleigh Chargers, the first indigenous player to captain a TAC Cup side, and represented Victoria Metro at the 2013 AFL Under 18 Championships.[1] He attended Trinity Grammar School and is studying science at the University of Melbourne.[2]
Prior to being drafted, he had an acting role in the 2010 ABC1 series Dead Gorgeous, playing Charlie.
AFL career
Kennedy-Harris was drafted with pick 40 by the Melbourne Football Club in the 2013 AFL Draft. After impressing with three goals in the final quarter in a NAB Challenge match against Richmond, Kennedy-Harris made his debut in round 1 of the 2014 AFL season.[3] Kennedy-Harris played 14 games in his first season, showing glimpses of his skill as a small forward who can occasionally run in the midfield.
Acting
Before being recruited into the AFL, Kennedy-Harris had a regular role in the 2010 ABC 1 TV show, Dead Gorgeous, starring in all 13 episodes as Charlie. He has also been in an episode of Neighbours, credited as Cub Scout #2, and was in the film, Blessed, as Young Jimmy. Kennedy-Harris was also in a Protective Services Officers Recruitment Campaign commercial by Victoria Police.[4]
