José Enrique Salgado Fernández (born June 10, 1989 in Cozumel, Quintana Roo, Mexico) is a Mexican professional boxer and the current North American Boxing Association Super Flyweight Champion.[1] Salgado is promoted by current WBC Champion, Mexican Saúl Álvarez' company Canelo Promotions.[2]

Professional career

In September 2010, José knocked out the veteran Miguel Tique to win the vacant WBC Youth World Super Bantamweight title.[3]

On March 26, 2011 Salgado got a third round knockout over title contender Everardo Morales to win the vacant NABF Super Flyweight Championship.[4]

Then José got a first round knockout over challenger Carlos Ariel Farías to win the vacant North American Boxing Association Super Flyweight Championship.[5]

Salgado will face Liborio Solís for the interim WBA Super Flyweight Championship.[6][7]
