Joseph Benda
Josef Benda, also Joseph Benda (baptized 7 May 1724 in Benátky nad Jizerou – died 22 February 1804 in Potsdam), was a Bohemian violinist and composer active in Germany. He was the brother of Franz Benda, Johann Georg Benda and Georg Anton Benda.[1]
Joseph Benda was the successor of his brother Franz Benda as Kapellmeister in Berlin. His eldest son, Ernst Friedrich Benda (1749–1785), was a violinist there from 1766.
